- It was notified as a Wildlife Sanctuary in 1952.

#2. Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary
Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary is located on Southern bank of river Brahmaputra with an area of 70.13 sq. kms. in the district of Nagaon and is a part of Laokhowa – Burachapori eco-system. Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary is an ideal habitat for Rhinoceros and Wild Buffalo.

#3. Bornadi Wildlife Sanctuary
Bornadi Wildlife Sanctuary is a Sanctuary of only 26.22 sq. kms. area, situated on the foothills of Himalayas bordering Bhutan in the north in Udalguri district and Baksa District, is an ideal bhabar tract. The Sanctuary was constituted especially for the protection and conservation of Hispid Hare and Pigmy Hog.

#4. Chakrasila Wildlife Sanctuary
Area of 45.50 sq. km., Chakrasila Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Dhubri district and Kokrajhar district in western Assam and is the second home of Golden Langur off the foothills of Himalaya.

Chakrashila Hill was first declared a reserve forest in 1966 and on 14 July 1994 it was recognized with the status of sanctuary by the Government of Assam
#5. Burachapori Wildlife Sanctuary
Burachapori Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the southern bank of river Brahmaputra in the Sonitpur district with an area of 44.06 sq. kms. the Sanctuary is a part of Laokhowa – Burachapori eco-system and comprises of a mosaic of wet alluvial grassland, riparian and semi-evergreen forests dotted by wetland and river system.

The area was declared a Reserved forest in 1974, it became a sanctuary in 1995.
#6. Panidehing Wildlife Sanctuary
Panidehing Wildlife Sanctuary is a rich wetland eco-system of 33.93 sq. kms. on the southern bank of river Brahmaputra in the Sibsagar district. শিৱসাগৰ জিলাৰ ব্রহ্মপুত্র নদীৰ দক্ষিণ পাৰত অৱস্থিত ৩৩.৯৩ বৰ্গকিলোমিটাৰ সমৃদ্ধ জলাভূমি
This protected area was established as a Bird Sanctuary in August 1996 by the Government of Assam.

#7. Hollongapar Wildlife Sanctuary
Hollongapar Wildlife Sanctuary is small Sanctuary of 20.98 sq. kms. in Jorhat district with semi-evergreen forests and evergreen patches amidst tea gardens and human settlements. The Sanctuary is named after the only Ape (Hoolock Gibbon) found in India.

#8. Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary
Pabitora Wildlife Sanctuary harbours the world’s highest density of One horned Rhinoceros, located in Morigaon district, but close to Guwahati City. The habitat comprises of Assam alluvial grassland with hilly forests for an area of 38.81 sq. kms. This is also an Important Bird Area.

The Sonai Rupai Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the foothills of Himalaya in the Sonitpur district with an area of 220 sq. kms. and offers views of both scenic beauty and wildlife. অভয়াৰণ্যখন শোণিতপুৰ জিলাৰ হিমালয়ৰ পাদদেশ অৱস্থিত আৰু ইয়াৰ আয়তন ২২০ বৰ্গ কিলোমিটাৰ। আৰু প্ৰাকৃতিক সৌন্দৰ্য আৰু বন্যপ্ৰাণী উভয়েৰই দৃশ্য উপস্থাপন কৰে।

#10. Bherjan – Bokajan – Padumoni Wildlife Sanctuary
The Bherjan – Bokajan – Padumoni Wildlife Sanctuary with 3 separate blocks is located in Tinsukia district and is an ideal habitat for the Primate species.

#11. East K. Anglong Wildlife Sanctuary
East Karbi Anglong Wildlife Sanctuary, with 221.81 sq. kms. is an important component of the Karbi Anglong–Kaziranga landscape, rich in both floral & faunal diversity and is located in the Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Council.

#12. Nambor Wildlife Sanctuary
Nambor Wildlife Sanctuary, spreading 37 sq. kms. contiguous to Garampani WLS is located in Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Council. It harbours 51 rare species of Orchid.

#13. Marat Longri Wildlife Sanctuary (মাৰাত লংৰি বন্যপ্ৰানী অভয়াৰণ্য):
Marat Longri Wildlife Sanctuary, spreading 451.00 sq. kms. is located in Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Council. It is an important component of Dhansiri-Lungding Elephant Reserve.

#14. Nambor – Doigrung Wildlife Sanctuary (নামবৰ-দৈগ্রং বন্যপ্ৰানী অভয়াৰণ্য):
Nambor – Doigrung Wildlife Sanctuary, spreading in 97.15 sq. kms. in 3 blocks, is located in Golaghat district and is famous for Hot water springs and one can easily sight Gaur and Hoolock Gibbon here.

#15. Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary
The Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary spreading in an area of 78.64 sq. kms. is located in the eastern fringe of Guwahati city.

#16. Borail Wildlife Sanctuary
Borail Sanctuary covers an area of 326.24 sq. kms. and comprises of Cachar Tropical Moist Evergreen and Semi-Evergreen Forests.

Deepar Beel Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the western boundary of Guwahati city of Kamrup Distrcit, Deepar Beel Sanctuary is the only Ramsar Site in the State. It is a picturesque wetland of 4.14 sq. kms.

#19. Bordoibam Bilmukh Bird Wildlife Sanctuary (Proposed)
Bordoibam Bilmukh Bird Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts. The Bird Sanctuary covers an area of 11.25 sq. kms. and is a breeding ground of large Whistling Teal.

#20. North K. Anglong Wildlife Sanctuary (Proposed)
North K. Anglong Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Council, is extremely important for the survival of Kaziranga N.P., as it is strategically located to the south of Kaziranga National Park and provides shelter to most of the animals of the park while migrating during annual floods.
